AGM: Members call on SIPTU leaders to resign

Following the defeat of the ‘Croke Park II’ proposals for pay and pension cuts, DCU SIPTU members have called on the current leadership of the union to resign immediately, and have demanded democratic reform of the union.

The motion passed at the AGM on April 17th is as follows:

‘This Section calls for the immediate resignation of the present union leadership, General President Jack O’Connor, Vice President Patricia King and General Secretary Joe O’Flynn, and for their replacement by a full democratic vote across the SIPTU membership. To this end, the Section commits to campaigning with others from other sectors in the union to ensure that this process by enacted.’

PASSED BY A SHOW OF HANDS.
